About the Project

Hello! Back in the late 90s, I was fascinated by the flight of boomerangs. Being left-handed and finding very few left-handed models, I naturally started making my own out of wood.

My boomerangs worked well, which inspired me to dive deeper into the physics of their flight. A few years later, after studying the scientific literature—including Félix Hess's thesis and various online simulation projects—I decided to develop a tool to design boomerangs and calculate trajectories to optimize their shapes. However, due to a lack of time and the complexity of the programming, I eventually set the project aside.

Recently, my son and I have regained our motivation, especially thanks to how much easier coding has become with AI tools. That is why we are now sharing a beta version of our program with any boomerang enthusiasts who might be interested.

Please keep in mind that this is an amateur project. The tool can—and certainly should—be improved, particularly regarding the realism of the calculated flight paths. We look forward to your feedback on the forum!
